Washington-based startup MobileSpaces announced that it acquired USD 8.6 million from Marker LLC and Accel Partners at the close of its Series B funding round. The first and only company that is engaged in securing mobile applications-even the 1.5 million apps in the Apple App Store and Google Play-MobileSpaces works to protect against data loss and leakage in these enterprises. Their BYOD (bring your own device) policy-managed workspace allows the creation of seamless and customized workflows on any mobile app.

Marker partner Yuval Shachar is impressed. "Secure enterprise mobility, BYOD and new mobile workflows are changing how enterprises do business, and the team at MobileSpaces has found a way to secure every mobile application on the market today. Those 1.5 million mobile apps provide a huge new source of business innovation. We found that only MobileSpaces secures mobile apps with no friction," he said.

MobileSpaces also has offices near Tel Aviv, Israel. The app-centric enterprise was included in the 2013 Gartner's Cool Vendors Report.
