Glenmede Fund Manager de Vassal Wins 2016 Lipper Award For Excellence In Fund Management

Glenmede Investment Management LP (GIM) has announced on Thursday that Vladimir "Val" de Vassal, CFA, received the 2016 Lipper Award for Excellence in Fund Management. Mr. Vassal serves as the portfolio manager for Quantitative Equity Strategies unit of the privately owned independent investment management firm. The firm represents itself as an affiliate of the Glenmede Trust Company NA.

Outstanding asset managers, delivering consistent strong risk-adjusted returns to the investors following opinions from Lipper's research analysts, are recognized with this award. Managers need to serve a minimum of five years at a fund to get qualified for the award. Furthermore, the funds require to be consistently top-rated by Lipper on the basis of data compiled by Lipper by the end of 2015, reports Business Wire.

GIM strives for consistency in investment performance requiring a culture of continuous improvement. During his 18 years career with Glenmede, Mr. Vassal has demonstrated its commitments towards achieving strong returns for the investors. According to a report published in Yahoo Finance, Peter Zuleba, president of Glenmede Investment Management, expresses his pride for Mr. Vassal and his team's achievement for excellence in fund management.

The Glenmede Large Cap Growth Fund (GLCGF) is co-managed by de Vassal and Paul Sulivan, CFA. GLCGF has also been named the best multi-core cap fund for the three- and five-years which ended November 30, 2015 among 231 and 210 funds, on the basis of historical risk-adjusted returns. The fund manages assets worth $2,059 million as of December 31, 2015, reports KFDA.

GLCGF's investment goal is based on seeking undervalued stocks with attractive fundamentals coupled with a disciplined focus on curbing risk. The fund managers use proprietary multi-factor, sector-specific quantitative models to identify investments in large cap growth companies. Glenmede Investment Management has received the awards at the 2016 Lipper Award ceremony, held on March 22, in New York City.

The Lipper Fund Awards are widely familiar as part of the Thomson Reuters Awards for excellence. The latter is a global collection of awards recognizing exceptional performances throughout the investment community.

Mutual funds, hedge funds and fund management firms delivering more consistent and stronger performance than peers are honored with Lipper awards. The awards are performance-based and objective-oriented and a proprietary quantitative fund rating methodology is used in determining the outstanding performers.
