LiveMinutes, a real-time workforce collaboration service provider, announced that it had sealed a seed round that raised US$1.4 million. The funding round was led by Great Oaks Venture Capital, a venture capital firm. Great Oaks had previously supported the likes of OkCupid and Trulia. Ali Rosenthal, Sam Yagan, and New World Ventures also participated in the funding round. Ali Rosenthal is a former Facebook unit development head and Sam Yagan is the CEO of Match.com.

According to sources, LiveMinutes plan to use the newly acquired funds to expand its marketing initiatives and to create more and better partnerships with other industry players. "We also have a really exciting roadmap we want to implement with regards to real-time collaboration," LiveMinutes co-founder and CEO, El Moujahid, told media.

LiveMinutes started more than a year ago as a web-conferencing service provider. It had a focus on file sharing. However, it has since transformed into a wholly featured collaboration service provider.  Their current services includes live video conferencing, real-time document sharing.
