A patent issued to Apple excited iPhone fanatics and technology geeks all over the word this week. According to the United States Patent and Trademark Office, a patent for "bulk amorphous alloy sheet forming processes" was handed to Crucible Intellectual Property, a subsidiary of Apple's partner company.

Liquidmetal Technologies started a partnership with the tech giant years ago. The liquid metal manufacturer provided their patented Liquidmetal alloy material to Apple, used in the tech giant's several processes and technologies.

What excited fans the most was the fact that liquid metal is exactly what Terminator's nemesis is made of. Although Apple might not be creating a Terminator phone, the company might use the technology to append to its products. Liquid metal is resistant to common phone stressors such as bending, denting and scratching.

Previously, the bulk production of liquid metal seemed impossible. The launch of the patent last week signified that Crucible Intellectual Property and Apple have managed to find a way to mass produce this Terminator substance.
