On Tuesday, US President Barack Obama congratulated the royal family of Britain for the birth of the new prince. Middleton was admitted to the hospital on Monday morning and gave birth to a baby boy at 4:24pm London time.

"Michelle and I are so pleased to congratulate The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the joyous occasion of the birth of their first child. We wish them all the happiness and blessings parenthood brings," Obama stated. "The child enters the world at a time of promise and opportunity for our two nations."

"Given the special relationship between us, the American people are pleased to join with the people of the United Kingdom as they celebrate the birth of the young prince," he added.

The United States and United Kingdom shared massive trade and economic relations. Each nation was among the other's leading trading partner. The two countries stayed as two of the five members of United Nations Security Council. They both owned permanent seats and veto power regarding the activities of the council. Because of this, US and UK were in frequent negotiations regarding the diplomatic, economic and military bureaucracies.
