According to Internet DealBook, an investment tracking group, the region that had the highest average deal valuation in the second quarter of 2013 was the Asia-Pacific. The USA, however, still received vast majority of global venture capital.

The Asia Pacific region experienced a high average deal value at US$67 million whereas the average deal value across the globe was just at US$17.9 million.

The report detailed the trends of 1079 acquisitions and investments made in the second quarter of 2013 around the world. It reported that total venture capital reached US$14 billion. The value of transactions was down by around US$4 billion compated to the same period last year.

"The big thing for us is while the average deal value for investment and acquisition has remained steady, there are more deals taking place against a backdrop of global economic uncertainty. We're seeing a huge amount of activity in software and services and marketing," an analyst said commenting on how different sectors would affect future venture capital deals.
