Samsung Reveals Australian Date and Price for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge

By March 11, two of Samsung's latest smartphones will be available in Australia - the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. A pre-sale registration will be made available on February 26 where Galaxy S7 can be ordered at A$1,149 while the Galaxy S7 Edge at A$1,249. These latest smartphones from Samsung were launched in Barcelona, Spain on Sunday at the 2016 Mobile World Congress.

Both smartphones boast of attractive designs with the S7 Edge having a curved glass display.  The devices run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, but the S7 Edge is built with a little larger screen measuring  5.5 inches (13.97 cm) compared to S7 with only 5.1 inches (12.95 cm). They are also water resistant for only 30 minutes when submerged in 1.5 meters of water, according to Mashable.

Both Samsung phones have Quad HD Super AMOLED displays with 2,560 x 1,440-pixel resolution and look a bit similar to the Galaxy S6 and have Micro SD card slots.  Telstra has been the first carrier to announce the new phone's availability and it is expected that others will follow soon.  The telecom company said that the phones will be available 'on a range of plans' excluding any specifics but includes free Samsung Gear VR to any online pre-orders, as reported by CNET.

In addition to the new smartphones' highlights, Galaxy S7 has an expandable storage and a 3000 mAh. On the other hand, the Galaxy S7 Edge has 3500 mAh. The colors of the phones to be available in Australia are in silver, gold and black.  The phones consist of a 4GB RAM and Samsung's Exynos octa-core processor which is an updated version.  However, it only comes on a single-slim slot which means you can't have an extra data when you need it, Business Insider reported.

Samsung Pay, like the latest Samsung Galaxy smartphones will be available in Australia through its phone. It is the company's mobile payment system and American Express is the presently named partner. Samsung Gear 360 camera was also released in the 2016 Mobile World Congress. The latest innovative phone will become available on March 11 with a pre-sale offer on February 26.
