Lexington set to win Generali Portfolio

Assicurazioni Generali SpA announced that they have agreed to sell private equity fund stakes to Lexington Partners, Inc. The holdings for the leveraged buyout funds were valued at approximately EUR500 million or US$648 million. The deal will be the second transaction between the Lexington and Generali. In 2012, Lexington bought a group of stakes from Assicurazioni Generali valued at US$400 million.

Lexington Partners was founded in 1994, with headquarters in New York. Lexington is the leading independent manager for co investment funds and secondary private equities. The company manages an estimated US$18 billion worth of funds.

The Assicurazioni Generali SpA is one the world's largest insurance company based Italy. They are also the largest in Europe. Assicurazioni Generali's headquarters is located in Trieste, a city and a seaport in northeastern part of Italy. The company was founded in 1831 under the name of "Imperial Regia Privilegiata Compagnia di Assicurazioni Generali Austro-Italiche. "
