New maps for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will arrive as part of the four DLC packs, the first of which is promised by game developer Treyarch to arrive early 2016. Also, a new hotfix for Xbox One and PS4 has gone live which added tuning weapons, preventing streaks from locking on, and other bug fixes.

This news came from Activision Communications Manager Scott Lowe at PlayStation Experience 2015 Event held Dec 5 to 6 in San Francisco, California. According to Lowe, the first DLC set of maps is titled Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Awakening set to arrive first for Sony's PS4 console.

The announcement comes with promotional image that features four new multiplayer maps such as Skyjacked, Rise, Splash, and Gauntlet plus one zombies map, Der Eisendrachen. According to Game Rant, Skyjacked is rumored to be a remake of Hijacked map based on Black Ops 2. It will feature boat setting in initially at the seven seas, taking it up on the air creating a futuristic spaceship in which the sky is now the new setting.

Rise appeared to be construction site in a snowy zone, Splash looks like a water park with its pools and slides. On the other hand, Gauntlet seems to be mysterious as it looks like a map with many environments inside it. It may feature a randomly selected biome everytime the map comes up, or possibly the map's biome will change whenever it is played.

VideoGamesBlogger leaked that the first action-packed DLC Map will be launched on Jan. 26, 2016 for the PS4 and 30 hence for Xbox One, PC versions. The second pack is pegged to release in March.

But prior to the arrival of the Call of Duty Black Ops 3 DLC, a new hotfix for the game has gone live. Design & Trend reports that the hotfix 37.25.35.4 is available now for Xbox One and PS4 users. This hotfix includes weapon tuning, preventing streaks from locking on whenever the gamer enters the play space, and fixes particularly for the players farming Cryptokeys.

Meanwhile, a Double XP Weekend for Black Ops 3 for both multiplayer and Zombies mode is still ongoing which began on December 11 and will run until December 14.
