Global retail major Walmart has announced the commencement of Cyber Monday sales from Sunday night of Thanksgiving weekend. Walmart's first round of deals under Cyber Monday will begin on 29 November. Walmart has taken up Cyber Week staring from 28 November until 4 December. Walmart started holiday sales earlier owing to rising consumer demand. Several products will be available at discounts as part of the holiday sales season.

According to reports by USA Today, Fernando Madeira, President and CEO, Walmart.com, the early beginning of holiday sales was due to a decision taken after considering the rise in search terms for Cyber Monday on Sunday afternoon and early Sunday evening. 

Madeira said: "Now, that the internet is everywhere with smart phone and broadband connections it doesn't make any sense to stay awake just to have access to the early, best special deals during Cyber Monday. That's why we decided to start earlier this year on Sunday."

Walmart announced the Cyber Monday sales for the first time. The Cyber Monday sales will begin four hours earlier at 8pm on Sunday. Walmart believes that it'll be comfortable for working couples to shop online right from late evening on Sunday. 

The objective of Cyber Monday launched by Walmart is to make it easier for customers to buy comfortably on the busiest online shopping day. Madeira further said: "It can be exhausting for working parents and millennials to stay up past midnight to shop online, only wake up early the next day to get ready for work. By starting Cyber Monday hours earlier on Sunday evening and quadrupling the number of Cyber Monday specials."

The competition among retailers is getting more intensified this year. Many retailers have commenced Black Friday deals. And now, Walmart has come out with Cyber Monday sales drive for shoppers. Walmart has released teasers on special deals and products. The US retailer is offering thousands of offers as part of this holiday sales season.

Discount sales include several latest products. For instance, LG 65-inch 4K television is put on sale for $799 giving savings of $500. Microsoft's Surface Pro 3, a tablet-laptop hybrid, is being offered for $599 with a discount of $200. Air Hogs Video Drone is being offered at $75 after $34 savings. 

Walmart has also decided to resume Evening Edition of Cyber Monday as it'll be more convenient for working parents. The online deals are gaining popularity among shoppers and Walmart is offering 2,000 online specials every day. The US retailers is delivering goods at free of cost. The free shipping is available for orders over $50.
