The recently released trailer of 'The Divergent Series: Allegiant' shows what fans expect from the book. However, due to the sad ending, fans have been petitioning to the author and movie execs for an alternate ending to the series.

The trailer for 'Allegiant', the third installment in the Divergent series has been recently released and shows a lot of what fans should expect from the movie adaptation of Veronica Roth's best-selling novel series. The sneak peek starts with Evelyn, played by Naomi Watts saying, 'People think walls separate us, but they also protect us' which coincides with the book showing that Evelyn wants nothing to do with what's outside the wall as she wants to retain her power within Chicago.

Tris (Shailene Woodley) and Four (Theo James) together with their friends head out and go over the wall to find out that they were indeed being awaited by everyone as Tris happens to be the success story that the human race was hoping for in the last 200 years.

As the plot thickens, the team finds out there is something wrong and that their home will be shut down so they head back and get hunted by David's(Jeff Daniels) men.

Up to this point, with what's shown in the trailer, the movie adaptation seems pretty close to the story in the books. What fans are hoping though is an alternate ending because they wouldn't want to see Tris die at the end of the series as she did in the books. According to Movie News Guide, after fans have petitioned not to let their heroine die, there is hope that studio executives will instead let the Tris and Four have a happy ending.

Aside from a happily ever after series ending, fans can look forward to seeing the last installment of the Divergent series in IMAX theatres. PR Newswire reports that the co-chairmen of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Rob Freidman and Patrick Wachsberger said, "Lionsgate has had a great relationship with IMAX and we are very pleased to be working with them again on two of our tentpole movies, 'Allegiant' and Deepwater Horizon." The co-chairmen further said that IMAX maximizes the impact of visually stunning films like that of 'Allegiant'.

This means fans are in for a visually stimulating treat as the third installment of the series, 'The Divergent Series : Allegiant' hits IMAX theatres on March 16, 2016. The last installment, aptly titled 'Ascendant' will be released a year after.
