GoPro will surely get the interest of the sports camera enthusiasts again with its upcoming Hero 5 camera release next year. The GoPro Hero 5 is speculated to feature an 8K resolution and an enhanced waterproof capability.

According to Christian Today, there had been pervasive talks that the company would finally launch the GoPro Hero 5 by October of this year, but didn't happen. The company's decision to hold off on releasing the GoPro Hero 5 is now being seen as one of the primary reasons why the company's stocks have taken a tumble lately.

Still, there are rumors suggesting that GoPro will not respond by rapidly releasing their new camera this year. Instead, most sports camera enthusiasts' believe that the GoPro Hero 5 will be unveiled in 2016.

The GoPro Hero 5 is speculated to feature a new 8K display as the previous versions of GoPro's cameras have featured only 4K displays. This will make the upcoming Hero the first to be armed with an 8K resolution. The rumored 8K display will then be paired up with 60 frames per second (fps) that will provide users the clearest videos and pictures. The newest sport camera is also expected to be around 40 percent lighter than its predecessor, making it even more compact and ideal to use for action shots.

Master Herald added that the GoPro Hero 5 will basically come ready to shoot and record underwater up to 60 meters depth. This means that it will be using dive housing instead of the standard housing that other GoPro action cameras come with.

Aside from the resolution and waterproof capability of the GoPro Hero 5, there are no further details about the handset. However, MNR Daily predicts that the GoPro Hero 5 might be tagged at around $550.

All of this information are not yet confirmed by GoPro and the company has not yet uttered any word. As of the moment, avid fans of the Hero cameras will just have to rely on these speculations and wait for the company to give concrete details about GoPro Hero 5.
