AT&T And Cherin Group Joint Bid For Hulu

AT&T Inc and Cherin Group announced that they submitted a joint bid for the auction of the video website, Hulu LLC.

Hulu LLC is owned by Comcast Corp., 21st Century Fox Inc., and Walt Disney Co.

The value of the bid submitted by Chernin Group and AT&T Inc. wasn't announced.

DirecTV, along with three bidders, individually offered at least US$1 billion for Hulu.

Charles Sipkins, a spokesperson for Peter Cherin, declined to comment on the details of the auction. Brad Burns, spokesperson for AT&T and Meredith Kendall, spokesperson for Hulu, also refused to comment on the details of the bid.

Peter Chernin, is one of the founders of Hulu LLC and is the former president for News Corp.

Hulu is the go-to service provider for online TV subscribers. The company operated the ad-supported site Hulu.com which allows viewers to watch online video content like movies, clips and TV shows for free.
