Hewlett-Packard's new Chromebook 14 is said to offer "premium features customers want on Chromebooks" at an affordable starting price of $249.99. The HP Chromebook 14 is slated for release on November 8 this year.

According to News Factor's report, HP vice president and general manager Kevin Frost said the HP Chromebook 14 is said to pack in new high-end features that users are looking for in a Chromebook. The new Chromebook 14 reportedly boasts a full HD resolution IPS display for better content viewing.

The HP Chromebook 14 can also be connected to TVs and bigger screens via Google Chromecast. It sports a fanless design that makes it run without making too much noise but still maintains powerful performance.

Under the hood, the HP Chromebook 14 is powered by an Intel Celeron N2840 chipset clocked at 2.16 GHz, 2GB of DDR3L SDRAM, and 16GB eMMC storage. It will also come with 100GB cloud storage in Google Drive for easy document sharing.

For connectivity, the new HP Chromebook 14 relies on a variety of ports such as a USB 3.0 port for charging, two USB 2.0 ports, and HDMI port. The device will also come with a built-in microSD card reader.

Smallbiz Trends reported that the HP Chromebook 14 comes with an affordable starting price tag of $249.99 while its full HD variant can be purchased for $279.99. There will also be a Chromebook 14 G4 which will have a starting price of $279. The new HP Chromebooks are said to be targeted at small businesses and educational users.

The HP Chromebook 14 can also be used in the school setting, according to a report by TechRadar. "Even my school system, which already has a 1:1 program with MacBook Airs, is looking at switching to Chromebooks because they are easier to manage and less expensive," said Roger Kay of Endpoint Technologies Associates. "Acer, which was early to spot this trend and invest in it, has a strong position in Chromebooks in the U.S. education segment. The HP offering looks credible and well-priced. There's no reason the company can't grab more of this burgeoning market."

HP slated the Chromebook 14 for a November 8 release this year. It will be available in two colors, Turbo Silver and Sky Blue.
