Kitwave Wholesale Group has purchased frozen food and ice cream firm Eden Farm, according to The Journal. The financial terms of the acquisition deal were not disclosed in the said report.

As a result of the deal, the combined Kitwave group's turnover for 2014 is expected to reach £250 million, the report added.

According to a spokeswoman cited by Yorkshire Post, purchasing Eden Farm is a good strategy for Kitwave because of its location and operations. The deal will also allow the company to expand its product offerings and client base, the report explained.

From its founding in Northern England in 1987, Kitwave has now grown to a wholesale group that has already acquired seven other firms. Included in its present portfolio are Anderson Wholesale,Teatime Tasties, and Eden Farm, the report detailed.

Eden Farm is a 50-year-old family business that involves distribution of frozen food and ice cream in Scotland, the North, and the Midlands. The company's headquarters is currently located in Peterlee, Yorkshire Post reported.
