"Agents of SHIELD" is already gearing up for its hotly-anticipated season 2 and there are a lot to look forward to as per Elizabeth Henstridge and Chloe Bennet's hints. The two confirm that Simmons' destination will be revealed and a time jump will happen when the show returns.

Chloe Bennet and Elizabeth Henstridge sat down with Zap2it with other cast members for ABC's 2015 summer TV press tour and spilled some interesting facts about the show's upcoming third season.

According to Bennet, there will be a big time jump when the series returns, showing how everyone seem to have moved on from Simmons' disappearance except from Fitz of course.

Simmons' fate is especially hard to accept for Fitz since before Henstridge's character was sucked in by the Kree stone during last season's finale, the two of them decided to go on a date after being working partners for two seasons.

Henstridge said Fitz will still be working on Jemma's case no matter what despite the lack of concrete starting point.

"It's Fitz's mission to get Simmons back. It's a solo mission. What happened was so crazy and there was no trace of her, that what do you do?"

She added, "I think that the whole team has tried and nothing has worked, so at some point you have to go, 'She's gone, we have to move on.' But Fitz refuses to do that."

In a different interview with TVLine, Henstridge confirms that the viewers who cannot wait to find out what happens to her character will immediately get answers when the series returns. She also revealed that it is not something that they had expected to happen in "Agents of SHIELD."

 "I didn't think that they'd go that far with it, honestly," she admitted. "I thought, 'She's probably just inside the rock. Stuck.' But all my ideas are quite boring. [The writers'] imaginations are much better than mine."

Executive producer Jeffrey Bell previously teased Simmons might still be alive and promises that her story is one of the reasons for an intriguing season 3.

Fans really need to clear their schedule when "Agents of SHIELD" season 3 premieres this September as to not miss the big reveal about Simmons' fate in the show.
