Boruto: Naruto the Movie will release in Japan in August- and despite the film being only a few months a way, there's little that we actually know about the next Naruto film. What we already know is that the film is a spin-off from The Last: Naruto the Movie, and that it will take place a generation after the original Naruto storyline, and that it will star Boruto, Naruto's son as the lead character. Mitsuki and Sarada are also rumored to be a part of the new team, with a potential love triangle storyline developing between them.

But could the film also be the starting point for an all-new manga chapter? Recent news reveals that a new Naruto manga series is on the way, titled "Naruto Gaiden: Nanadaime Hokage to Akairo no Hanatsuzuki' (which translates into 'Naruto Spinoff: The Seventh Hokage and the Scarlet Spring Month'). The new series will follow an adult Naruto as he trains the next generation of heroes.

Boruto: Naruto the Movie, then could act as a starting point for an all-new Naruto universe, centered around the new generation and taking the place of the original universe. Naruto manga continues to be wildly popular and still publishes to this day- the latest chapter, titled 'Uzumaki Naruto!!' was released in Japan this past February, and is set to release in the United States in October.

Another rumor to creep up about Boruto: Naruto the movie is that Boruto will feature a much different fighting style than his father. It seems many Naruto fans have grown bored with the fighting styles used throughout the series, and are aching for something new. As well, when Boruto is being trained by Sasuke, that may give the character (and the creators) the opportunity to think up some wildly new fighting moves for the character.
