Hess Corp. (HES) and Newfields Exploration Co. (NFX) are reportedly selling Asian assets. In a Bloomberg report, Exxon Mobile Corp and Royal Dutch Shell Plc have made their bids on the Asian oil and natural gas fields owned by Hess Corp. and Newfields. Talisman Energy Inc., have also made a bid on the said assets.  Insiders have hinted that the sale on the said assets could bring a profit of US$3 billion each for both HES and NFX.

Assets up for sale are Hess Corp's share of gas fields in Thailand and Indonesia. Newfields Exploration Co, on the other hand, is selling stakes for their offshore oil and natural gas fields in Malaysia and China.

The sales process is still ongoing, according to the two individuals who claim first-hand knowledge of the private deal but have opted to remain anonymous. When asked for a statement, Newfield spokesman Keith Schmidt confirmed the reports but refused to comment on the value of the assets.  Hess Corp company spokesman Jon Pepper claimed there was nothing to mention about the pending sale of their company's Thailand and Indonesia properties as of the moment.
