Former President Donald Trump, amidst a break from his ongoing trial, shared insights on economic concerns and campaign strategies during an exclusive interview with FOX6 News in Waukesha on Wednesday.

Trump's remarks provided perspectives on critical economic issues and his approach to the upcoming election.

Trump Criticizes Joe Biden's Border Policies

In a one-on-one conversation with FOX6 Political Reporter Jason Calvi, Trump delved into various topics, including border security.

He criticized President Joe Biden's handling of the border, stating that there are millions of people entering the United States from prisons, mental institutions, and even terrorists, which, in his view, is causing significant harm to the country.

In line with this, Trump expressed concerns about the state of the economy, citing issues such as inflation, and market conditions.

"Now, you see the markets are crashing, the economy is very bad, inflation is destroying people's, it's destroying the lives of a lot of people," he lamented.

Trump's Campaign Strategy; Support for State Rights

Regarding his campaign strategy, Trump emphasized his support for state rights, particularly in the context of abortion laws. He clarified that he is not signing a national abortion ban.

"That's Democrat misinformation. I got that done, and now it's up to the states, it's up to your state," he said.

When questioned about his VP shortlist, Trump mentioned potential candidates like Marco Rubio and Tim Scott but indicated that a decision would likely be made closer to the convention.

Trump also commented on his ongoing trial, labeling it as a "fake trial" and attributing it to the Biden administration. He expressed confidence in the voters' understanding of the situation and his lead in polls.

The ex-president is caught up in several legal proceedings, such as his hush money trial and his New York trial.
