Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena
Giorgio Olivato, vice chairman of a foundation that is Monte Paschi's largest shareholder, has resigned from office for unknown reasons. Sources, however, said that Olivato opposed the foundation's plan to sell its stake in the Italian bank.
Monte dei Paschi foundation had been in discussions with the Italian Treasury regarding a stake sale deal, said sources in a Reuters report.
Italian prosecutors said that JP Morgan should be indicted after manipulating markets and falsifying documents when it took over Banca Antonveneta last 2008.
Italian Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena has raised its capital for the bank's revised bailout plan to EUR2.5 billion or USD3.3 billion.
