Few weeks before November 6, the official release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, game developer Treyarch uncovered the Free Run Mode, a race against time multiplayer campaign where players may vie for supremacy.

Treyarch created Free Run which is a combined asymmetrical multiplayer competition and platforming skills. It sees players racing against the clock to post the best times possible, described William Usher of Cinema Blend.

Usher further discussed that the introduced mode is similar to a training mode but it has meta game which allows players to compete for leaderboard supremacy. The mode not only allows the player to engage with other players to beat the fastest time possible but also concedes the player to circumnavigate through the Black Ops 3 levels using boosts, wall-runs and thrusters. The mode is automatically unlocked at the start of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.

Free Run was make known to the public by Treyarch during Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 livestreaming, as observed by Kotaku. Treyarch attempted to figure out the Black Ops 3 new movement system thus creating Free Run mode. Designer Phil Tasker was inspired by Titanfall and Mirror's Edge where there is vertical movement and wall running and obstacle courses.

In addition to Free Run, Game Rant wrote, developers confirmed that they look into network functionality more than player's skills. This decision is in relation to balance the teams once lobbies are created.

Game Rant also quoted Treyarch as they mention the game's Loyalty Personalization Packs, which will reward fans with in-game items after reaching certain levels in Black Ops 2, Advanced Warfare, and Ghosts who have also linked their accounts to the upcoming sequel's servers.

The Free Run mode is something that will fixed players to Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 as it moves forward on November 6 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC.
