The Sinovel Wind Group, one of China's wind turbine manufacturers, announced its divestment of its four units internationally after charges against the company surfaced. The charges include stealing confidential trade secrets from its previous supplier from the United States.

The divested units are located in Belgium, Canada, Italy, and the United States, said the company during its document filing to the stock exchange in Shanghai. No other details were disclosed by Wang Wen, Sinovel's spokeswoman.

An indictment was produced by prosecutors from the United States. Indictments were for the Sinovel and two of its executives. The allegations involved stealing patented source codes for turbine processes. The source codes were produced by American Superconducter Corp.

"The allegations in this indictment describe a well-planned attack on an American business by international defendants - nothing short of attempted corporate homicide," said John Vaudreuil, a United States attorney for Wisconsin, where the AMSC's source code and servers were located.
