Although most game fanatics can't say if "Star Citizen" will indeed become a real game, the likelihood is still high given the speculations and rumors of what it might be. However, adding to the hype, Cloud Imperial Games released the video game's cinematic trailer. In addition, actor Gary Oldman reportedly joined the cast of the said upcoming space-simulation epic game.

According to Motherboard, "Star Citizen" developer Chris Roberts along with his multiple development studios working under Cloud Imperium Games have been keeping every detail under wraps. Nonetheless, despite the game being inexistent as of now, the American video game company held its "CitizenCon" where it released a mind-blowing video that every gamer now desires to be real.

Paste Magazine reported that fans of the crowd-funded developer Cloud Imperium Games gathered to celebrate "Star Citizen" last weekend, as the opening cinematic trailer was unveiled for the single-player portion of the game entitled "Squadron 42." The said trailer sees Gary Oldman delivering an inspiring yet quite jingoistic speech to the space senate. Other stars such as Gillian Anderson, Liam Cunningham and Mark Hamill are expected to make appearances in the game's campaign, but it remains a mystery if they are to be included in "Star Citizen's" MMO sectors.

It is worth noting that the ambitious "Star Citizen" game has raised more than $77 million for the goal of becoming one of the best space sims ever put into conception. It should include a massively-multiplayer persistent universe as well as huge single-player campaign, incorporating both flight in space and first-person, on-foot infantry battle.

Den of Geek, on the other hand, reported that "Star Citizen" has come under various criticisms of late. Many reportedly questioned the possibility of the game being a crash and burn. But, as quoted by the publication, Chris Roberts said: "We have more people today than we did a few months ago." Roberts was referring to the game's current 270-strong staff.

While Gary Oldman's inclusion seems promising, "Star Citizen" is still believed to have a great deal to live with. In fact, some have reportedly argued with Cloud Imperium Games' ambition of adding out-of-this-world features.

"Star Citizen" is currently pegged for a 2016 release.
