Apple Inc. has recently released its newest iPhone flagships, the 6s and 6s Plus, that gained record breaking sales three days after its launch. The company is now speculated to unveil the iPhone 7 in 2016 which is believed to sport wireless charging technology.

According to MNR Daily, wireless charging is popular among smartphone users now as it simply let them place their mobile handset on a pad without the need for any wires. Other smartphone manufacturers such as Samsung, LG and Sony are already offering Android phones with wireless charging feature as well.

On the other hand, Apple was unable to introduce wireless charging in last year's iPhone 6. Unfortunately, the technology did not work through aluminum cases. But QUALCOMM recently launched its wireless charging technology that is capable of charging even through metal.

In addition, The Herald Weekly stated on its article that the American tech giant has applied for a patent that will enable a wireless charging ability feature in iPhone 7. This feature will let the smartphone to charge itself wireless through coils that could be found in the latest iPhone product line.

Apple also claims that the coils in the iPhone 7 can also be used in microphone to capture and produce sounds. Apple's patent which is called the Inductive Power Transfer Using Acoustic or Haptic device is believed to be a greatest feature that iPhone 7 will sport.

Aside from the wireless charging technology, IBTimes cited other features that iPhone 7 might sport. The upcoming flagship of Apple is believed to be engineered with its forthcoming six-core A10 chipset. This handset is speculated to have thickness of 6.5 mm, about the same thickness as an iPod Touch. It is also believed that iPhone 7 will be sporting a dust-proof and water-proof body. And lastly, Apple is considering switching to glass-on-glass technology for its touchscreens. This is a setup where a glass touch panel is sandwiched between an LCD display and the iPhone's cover glass.

None of these speculations were confirmed by Apple Inc. yet. However, many outlet claims that if these initial specs might somehow be close enough to the undisclosed features of iPhone 7. Hopefully, the company will be spilling the some of its details soon.
