Apple will reportedly delay the release of its new Macbook Pro and Macbook Air in 2016 to give way to the launch of the iPad Pro. The Macbook Air 2016 is said to be the cheapest Macbook ever, with a price lower than that of Microsoft's Surface Book.

Older laptops of Apple going on sale indicates the company's plan to launch new products in the form of the 2016 Macbook Pro and Macbook Air. The two devices were expected to be announced this September or October, yet Apple has made no such moves yet. It is speculated that the tech giant put off the release of the two devices in order to make way for the coming of the iPad Pro, reported Latinos Post.

According to the report, a Taiwanese publication called Economic Daily News suggested that the reason for the late launch of the Macbook Pro and Macbook Air was to focus sales on the iPad Pro. Apple's new iPad is said to be a powerful tablet that can compete with laptops.

Some speculate that the delay was due to the unavailability of the new Intel Skylake processors to be used in the two new Apple laptops. The processors are set to be manufactured before 2015 ends. The Skylake processors will replace the Broadwell chips inside the current Macbook Air and Macbook Pro.

Neurogadget reported the specifications and features of the Macbook Pro and Macbook Air. Both will integrate Force Touch technology and Skylake-U processors that will improve the devices' performance. The batteries for both devices are expected to get a revamp as well. It is also believed that the latest OS X El Capitan will run on the 2016 Macbook Pro and Macbook Air.

Australia News Network compared the Macbook Air with Microsoft's Surface Book. As per the report, the Surface Book features a "dynamic fulcrum hinge", a detachable screen, Windows 10 OS, an i5 or i7 Intel processor, and 1GB graphics card. On the other hand, the Macbook Air 2016 will reportedly have new Nvidia GPU - GeForce GTX 950 graphics card, the latest Skylake-U chipset, and Retina display.

The 2016 Macbook Air is rumored to be the cheapest Macbook ever made in the history of Apple with a price of $899. It is cheaper than the Microsoft Surface Book which is reported to have a price of $2,299.
