Indonesian coal producer Bumi Plc tried to recover a total of US$201 million missing funds. The company said that it agreed to get back the majority of the money in a deal with its former director, Rosan Roeslani.

In a statement issued yesterday, the former CEO of Bumi's PT Berau Coal Energy, Roeslani said that it will transfer the assets of Berau and US$173 million in cash. This will be done after Bumi waive any potential claims against Roeslani over the missing funds. However, the agreement must be approved by the company's shareholders.

The missing assets that are to be recovered from the former chief executive included a shareholding in the company. In the agreement, Roeslani stated no admission of wrongdoing or liability.

Bumi stated last month that Roeslani got more salary than he was supposed to have including incentives and bonuses that were earlier disclosed.

Meanwhile, Roeslani did not respond to emails seeking his statement regarding the issue.
