Microsoft Lumia 950 And 950 XL Release Update: Devices Officially Launched; Key Features Revealed

The Microsoft Corporation held a press event last Tuesday, October 6,  to finally launch its newest operating system, the Windows 10. During the event, two of their smartphones were additionaly released, the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL, finally revealing its key features. 

According to Gizmodo, Panos Panay and the Microsoft Devices team recently revealed two new Windows 10 smartphones. These devices are said to be not meant for international users or emerging markets -these are the heavy hitters, Lumia 950 and 950XL. The gadgets were reportedly launched to showcase the very best that Windows mobile can give. In addition, both smartphones made by Microsoft is lightweight but are not due to material sacrifice.

Techpower News gave the rundown specifications of both Lumia flagships. The Lumia 950 sports a 5.2-inch WQHD OLED display with 564 PPI pixel density. It is engineered with Snapdragon 808 chipset with hexacore processor and 64-bit architectural system. As for its battery, this handset is powered with 3000mAh capacity of removable battery.

On the other hand, the Lumia 950XL is armed with a huge 5.7-inch WQHD OLED display with 518 PPI pixel density. This device runs on Snapdragon 810 chipset with an octacore processor and 64-bit architectural system. It is powered by a 3340mAh capacity removable battery.

In addition, the Phone Arena shared the features that are similar with the Lumia 950 and 950XL. Both of these amazing devices are reportedly sporting 20 megapixel rear-facing camera with triple LED flash and OIS while their front-facing camera has 5 megapixel which is good for selfies.

Another similar trait is the 32 GB of internal storage that is expandable via microSD slot. Lumia 950 and 950 XL has an iris scanner with Windows Hello (Beta).  They are both running on Windows 10 with Continuum (use the phones like a computer) through Display Dock. And last but not the least, both of these handsets support USB Type-C.

These are the competitive specs that the newest flagship of Microsoft carriers have. With these enhanced features, many are already excited to have the handsets on their hands. However, the prices of Lumia 950 and 950 XL are still yet to be announced.
