Metacloud raises $10 million in Series A round

Cloud solutions provider Metacloud said today that it closed its $10 million Series A fundraiser. Canaan Partners was the company's lead backer. Other investors in the round where Storm Ventures and AME Cloud Ventures. Metacloud is headquartered in Pasadena, California.

The raised fund will finance the company's growth and acceleration of innovation, as well as its attempt to expand globally. Its Casbon|OS OpenStack-based cloud service is gaining increased demand from big businesses in different countries.

General Partner at Canaan Partners Maha Ibrahin commented on the investment, "In addition to a transformative delivery model, Metacloud defines the gold standard of what we look for in a founding team."

"With large scale infrastructure engineering experience gained during their years at Ticketmaster and Yahoo!, Sean Lynch and Steve Curry have the pedigree to deliver on Metacloud's promise of bringing the ease of the public cloud to the private cloud environment," she explained further.

Cloud is a promising advancement in the tech sector, but many enterprises have very limited option when utilizing this technology, according to Jerry Yang, co-founder of search engine Yahoo!.
