Former Russian Minister Ivanov joins Altimo

Russian international telecoms investor Altimo announced today that it has picked Igor Sergeyevich to join its international advisory board. Ivanov is currently holding the position of President of Russian International Affairs Council. Altimo, which services largely in the Europe, Asia, and the CIS, has stakes including almost half of VimpelCom Ltd.'s voting interest. VimpelCom is an international carrier of telecom services.

Ivanov holds the distinction of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary. He also works as a professor at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations. Ivanov was Russia's Foreign Affairs Minister from 1993 unitl 2004.

Russian President Vladimir Putin hailed Ivanov as Secretary of the Security Council of the country in 2007.

Chief Executive Officer of Altimo Alexy Reznokovich commented on Ivanov's joining of the advisory board, saying "I am delighted to welcome Igor Ivanov to the Advisory Board of Altimo. His long and varied career of international public service and academic life has provided him with a wealth of experience which will prove invaluable to our global business development and strategy."
