"The Originals" Season 3 promises to be action filled as the Mikaelson brothers continue to be at odds with one another while tracking down a serial killer in the Big Easy with their group of supernaturals. A group of vampires are also coming in the town.

Christian Today reports that the premiere episode is titled "For the Next Millennium" and will have a time jump of a few months after the Season 2 finale. Freya will try to fix Klaus' relationship with Elijah. An old vampire friend of Klaus' named Lucien will arrive in New Orleans that will make Klaus suspicious of his agenda on the remaining sire lines of the Mikaelsons. Elijah questions if he can ever forgive his brother for everything that he has done while Hayley stays in wolf form at the bayou trying to cope with her situation.

Vincent and Cami will help Detective Kinney in solving a series of gruesome murders that make them suspect that a serial killer is on the loose. Meanwhile, Marcel who has regained control of the French Quarte, will try out a new plan to recruit new vampires. Davina makes a decision that will result in a big fight with Marcel.

EW reveals that the new season will have new additions to the cast. A group of vampires sired by the Mikaelson siblings called the Trinity will show up in New Orleans and can make matters worse for the feuding brothers.

EP Julie Plec revealed in a Yibada article that there might still be hope for former love birds Elijah and Hayley. "Haylijah" fans were heartbroken after their romance was cut short by Hayley's marriage to Jackson. She was then put under a spell that turned her into a wolf for most parts of the month. Plec teased that their love story may have another chance but warns fans at the same time not to get their hopes high just yet since their reunion will not be happening soon.

"I wouldn't say they'll never get together, because I think they have and at some point, they will again. Now, it's really just a matter of how can Jackson and Hayley find happiness in their marriage when there is that silent elephant in the room," she added. 

The Mikaelson brothers clearly have their work cut out for them in order to protect their legacy in New Orleans in Season 3 of "The Originals". The show returns on October 8 on CW.
