According to Masayoshi Son, SoftBank Corp's chief executive officer, he was confident with the acquisition of Sprint Nextel Corp by his company. He also announced on Friday that the deal will be completed in July. This was after SoftBank rival Dish Network Corp failed to make a counter move this week.

SoftBank Corp is a Japanese mobile network operator. It is driven to expand its business as it tries to push through Japan's biggest ever acquisition. Aggressive Dish Network failed with its proposed offer for Sprint and its subsidiary, Clearwire Corp.

Masayoshi Son is SoftBank's billionaire founder. He stated that Dish's failure to increase its bid for Sprint before the given deadline this week made his company closer to completing the US$21.6 billion deal. However, he warned that his US rival could make a surprise move prior Sprint's shareholder's meeting on June 25. Son added that the challenge bid launched by Dish last April had forced SoftBank to consider other options including acquisition of T-Mobile US Inc. that is 74% owned by Deutsche Telekom AG.
