New social networking platform Nextt announced on Wednesday that it has raised $700,000 worth of seed funds. Investors of the fund include Venture Investors and Great Oaks Venture Capital. Nextt is an upcoming private social media network online.

Targeting friends who want to connect socially online and offline, Nextt will debut as a free desktop and mobile app. Nextt creates a virtual meeting place for friends to plan and organize as an alternative to current social network powerhouses Facebook and Google Plus. The company said that it does not have the hassles of open or public social networks, e-mail chains and spam, and 'noisy group chats' that other websites and apps have.

"At Nextt, we think it is time that our social networks evolve to meet our full range of social needs - to focus on face-to-face friendships in addition to digital friends, and to discover the future in addition to sharing the past," said Nextt's co-founder Mark McGuire.
