Vodafone Considers Improving Bid for Kabel Deutschland

After offering an initial bid of Eur7.2 billion for Kabel Deutschland, Vodafone is mulling on improving its offered bid. This was according to one person familiar with the matter.

Same person said on Friday, that the offer could come out as soon as next week.

Vodafone refused to give comments about the said bid improvement.

In a letter sent to Kabel by Vodafone last week, it announced interest over the company and stated a price of Eur81 per share. Three people familiar with the deal told Reuters.

Vodafone confirmed that it has indeed made an offer to buy Kabel Deutschland but did not disclose any further details.

With 32 million customers in Germany at the end of March, Vodafone is the largest mobile operator in the country. Meanwhile, Kabel Deutschland is Germany's biggest cable operator serving about 15 million out of 28 million homes passed by cable in the country.
