A new addition to the cast of Marvel's Doctor Strange in the person of Rachel McAdams was recently confirmed. Although her character has not been confirmed yet, she might play as Doctor Strange's love interest.

The Wrap reported that McAdams recently confirmed her involvement in the film during the Toronto Film Festival. She is the latest addition to the star-studded cast comprised of Tinda Swinton as Doctor Strange's mentor, The Ancient One, Benedict Cumberbatch as the titular character, and Chiwetel Ejiofor as the Strange's nemesis, Baron Mordo.

Marvel did not give any immediate reply about the news, However, according to Collider, McAdams might play as Doctor Strange's love interest in the film.  McAdams' character is currently under wraps although various theories have made their rounds online. McAdams confirmed that she was in early talks for a role last July.

According to Comingsoon.net, Rogue One actor, Mads Mikkelsen is also in talks to join the cast in a currently undisclosed villain role. During the D23 Expo, Marvel's Kevin Feige promised that the upcoming film will "continue to push the boundaries of [Marvel's] cinematic universe" . Doctor Strange centers on a great yet arrogant neurosugeon, Stephen Strange who loses the use of his hands after an incident. Desperate to heal himself, he later learns how to use magic with the aid of his mentor, The Ancient One. With his powers and abilities, Strange will defend the Earth against its mystical villains.

Doctor Strange is set to be directed by Scott Derrickson from the screenplay crafted by Thomas Dean Donnelly, Joshua Oppenheimer, and John Spaihts. Details about the upcoming film are presently scarce, however, more information are expected to be revealed in the coming months as production progress. It is set to be released in theaters on November 04, 2016.
