UBS Wealth Management Senior VP Died at Age 69

UBS AG wealth-management services senior vice president, George H. Weiler III has died at age 69. His wife stated in an interview that Weiler III died at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center last May 29. He suffered a heart attack as he was playing a game of tennis at the Bronxville Field Club in New York.

Weiler was a civil-rights attorney in Washington and practiced corporate law. However, in 1984, he started with his career in financial services where he engaged in both corporate and executive services. In 1997, Swiss Bank Corp. bought Dillon read and combined the firm with SBC Warburg, an investment bank. The following year, a merger was formed with SBC and Union Bank of Switzerland that formed the UBS (UBSN) Zurich which was also Switzerland's largest bank.

In 2000, Weiler joined the wealth management services in the firm's US office. Aside from being the firm's Senior VP, he also ran Weiler Financial Services. This unit was responsible in managing individual and small corporation assets in UBS office.
