The Ares Management LLC disclosed today the joining of Charles Steel with Ares Private Equity Group as its Managing Director. Mr. Steel was formerly employed at The Carlyle Group from 2001 to 2010, handling the European leveraged buyouts. He had spearheaded numerous important investments for the firm.

"We are pleased to welcome Charles to Ares Management," the Senior Partners of Ares and co-Heads of the firm's Global Private Equity Activities, David Kaplan and Bennett Rosenthal said. "Charles' extensive experience in investing across range of transaction types in Europe will be of great value as we invest a portion of our latest US$4.7 billion corporate opportunities fund outside of the United States."
