LG G4 series is surely bound for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update as soon as it would come out in late September brushing aside possibilities that the latest Lollipop is still hitting G4 handsets like G4 Tablet, G4 Stylus, G4 Dual, G4 Beat, G4C and the flagship G4.

Heated discussions on the web are the center of reports going wild as to whether LG will still be releasing the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop or not. The South Korean tech titan has not issued any official statement regarding the veracity of the reports. Sources are firm however that the company is skipping the new Lollipop update.

LG has been the center of the skipping news despite too many topnotch brands in the market are also not updating yet to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. This is not the first time the company is doing it. LG also has skipped the Android 4.4.4 KitKat update and proceeded to Android 5.0 Lollipop when it debuted.

If the Marshmallow update is not coming by September, reports say it will hit devices before December 2015 ends or as 2016 kicks off.

Along with several bug fixes, Android 6.0 Marshmallow will offer LG G4 devices with a lot of software support and a host of system and performance improvements. Based on its latest developer preview on Google Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 9 and Nexus Player, the Marshmallow update will bring devices to a new level of Android experience.

Marshmallow is set to update Android device's touch interface to the latest TouchWiz, app permissions, power management dubbed Doze, auto-backup, fingerprint support, Android Pay support, USB Type-C support, track memory and a bunch of other improvements.

Mobile carriers in the U.S. are preparing for the launch of Android Pay which will commence on September 2. Google's replacement for Google Wallet has been lauded for its advanced technology used compared to Apple Pay.

Meanwhile, words in the rumor mill as well that LG G4's predecessor G2 may not be getting the Android 6.0 Marshmallow but there is no definite statement yet from the company.
