Erin Lindsay's difficulties will continue to take center stage in 'Chicago PD' season 3. This time, she has to do her best to get back on her feet. However, things will not be easy for her. Although Jay Halstead is hopeful for his reunion with Erin, this will not happen soon.

There are lots of issues that needed some resolutions during 'Chicago PD' season 3. One of which is the problems that Erin Lindsay has. During the last season, she was seen in the lowest point of her life, as she became depressed and returned to her old vices. It also saw her budding romance with Detective Jay Halstead.

However, fans were dismayed how their relationship went. But according to CarterMatt, there is a big hope that the two will get back together. But, it won't happen very soon, as Lindsay has to work on her own issues first.

Speaking to TVLine, executive producer Matt Olmstead revealed that Halstead for now is "just worried about her surviving ... Then once she gets her feet [back] under her, we may have the romance kick back in."

Olmstead added that fans have to wait a little while before their relationship will be featured again. As stated, she has to get back on her feet. According to the reports, the writers are apparently having a hard time finding a way to get Erin back to her old self.

But in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, actress Sophia Bush said that her character Lindsay will suffer the consequences of her past actions and things will get messy. She will also have hard time adjusting to the "new rules" imposed on her.

"But at the end of the day, she is who she is and this is the one good thing that she's good at. As she's coming back, she's going to have to put in time with each of the people in her unit to prove that she's showing up in the right ways," added Bush.
