DreamWorks has finally unveiled the poster for the upcoming Kung Fu Panda 3 after the trailer was released months before. Along with it is the plot which reveals two very different challenges  Po will face in the highly anticipated sequel.

"Kung Fu Panda 3" will be in 3D format. In the animated feature film sequel, Po, continuing on his legendary adventures, must face two epic, but very different threats: one supernatural and the other a little closer to home.

When Po's long-lost panda father suddenly reappears, the reunited duo travels to a secret panda paradise to meet scores of hilarious new panda characters. But when the supernatural villain Kai begins to sweep across China defeating all the kung fu masters, Po must do the impossible-learn to train a village full of his fun-loving, clumsy brethren to become the ultimate band of Kung Fu Pandas.

A glimpse of a panda village was shown in the final scene of "Kung Fu Panda 2," where Po's long-lost father, Li, is living. Through the co-production between DreamWorks Animation and the Shanghai-based studio, Oriental DreamWorks, Li's home becomes the 8th wonder of the world. "Kung Fu Panda 3" concept art shows a living paradise that mixes ancient Chinese architecture with the pure beauty of nature.

Jack Black returns as the voice of Po in the film along with Angelina Jolie (Master Tigress), Dustin Hoffman (Master Shifu), Jackie Chan (Master Monkey), Seth Rogen (Master Mantis), Lucy Liu (Master Viper), David Cross (Master Crane), Randall Duk Kim (Master Oogway).

A meaner and much bigger villain Kai will be voiced by J.K. Simmons. "Kai is somebody that's beyond Tai Lung, beyond Shen," said co-director Jennifer Yuh Nelson. Simmons shared that he has played the bad guy in several films before. He said: "I've played a variety of badasses in my career. I do like to mix it up. I like being a character actor playing different kinds of guys. Or, now, different kinds of beasts."

As seen in the trailer, Po's father, Li Shan, will finally be introduced. Except for Po's love for Kung Fu, Li is almost exactly like his son. Li loves food, napping, and simply having a good time. Li will be voiced by Bryan Cranston from Breaking Bad.

"Kung Fu Panda 3" arrives in theaters on January 29, 2016 from DreamWorks Animation and 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.
