Japanese firm Softbank Corp. plans on building a new Silicon Valley office for the network as part of its bid to takeover Sprint-Nextel Corp. and is expecting to employ nearly 1,000 individuals. 

Many of the executives have already held meetings at the venue, which is between Softbank's Tokyo office and Sprint's headquarters in Kansas. The president of Softbank, Masayoshi Son is looking into bringing an 'inventive spirit' into Sprint as an active chairman of the company.

In an interview last week, Son said, "I'd like to bring Silicon Valley into the mix. We're bringing Softbank capital, our know-how and myself into this."

Son has been sharing his vision for the merger between his company and Sprint in an effort to fend off the counterbid from Dish Network Corp. Dish had offered US$25.5 billion for Sprint last month and he has been on a roadshow meeting with Sprint shareholders from New York and California.

Son had said, "Silicon Valley is more convenient for me."
