Katara Hospitality of Qatar is nearing the completion of the acquisition of its first hotel property in London. This would be a major coup for the investor, as it already has luxury properties in both Paris and Singapore.

In an interview with Arabian Business, CEO Hamad Abdulla Al Mulla had put a bid on the five star hotel being managed by an international operations company. He said he was hoping the deal would be finalized in the next three weeks.

According to Al Mulla, "We have opportunities we've initated in London. We have to put our mark on London, we have put our flags in London, that's why we need to be in London."

He did not identify the hotel that Katara Hospitality was bidding for but he did say doors of the hotel would be flung open by September.

Katara Hospitality is developing the Lusail Marina Iconic Development in Doha in its bid to become one of the best recognizable hospitality brands in the world. It also owns the Raffles in Singapore, the Royal Savoy in Lausanne, the Gallia Hotel in Milan and The Peninsula Hotel in Paris, among others.
