Eli Roth is paying tribute to fans that have supported him and his latest movie "The Green Inferno" amidst controversy of a petition to boycott the film. The Green Inferno Fan Appreciation Tour will launch on August 23 at Wizard World in Chicago and is planned to be brought to a number of cities across the county.

Eli Roth's latest film "The Green Inferno" from Blumhouse Productions is set to release in September but a special fan-event will kickoff later this month. The Fan Appreciation Tour was put together so that Roth can thank his fans for their loyalty and support of the national theatrical release of "The Green Inferno." It will include special screenings, Q&As, guest appearances and private parties for fans in multiple cities.

Roth said: "I am so excited to hit the road and spend time with the fans whose undying support really helped bring The Green Inferno to theaters nationwide. We plan to pull out all the stops and give them the ultimate Green Inferno experience, with special surprises in every city."

2009 HollyShorts Visionary Award recipient Eli Roth's highly anticipated new feature film will also open the HollyShorts Film Festival. It is an annual short film festival showcasing the best and brightest short films from around the globe. The film festival showcases the top short films produced 40 minutes or less. Categories include Short Animation, Short Live Action, Short Documentary, Music Video, Webisode, Commercials, Trailers, 3D Shorts, Youth Film and Digital Microbudget.

"The Green Inferno" premiered back in 2013 at the Toronto International Film Festival, but will get a U.S. release on September. Its first clip features singer-songwriter Sky Ferreira's big screen debut. The film clip shows Sky as 'Kaycee,' the protagonist's best friend, who hugs her pal goodbye before the ill-fated mission to the rainforest.

"The Green Inferno," revolves around a group of student activists who travels to the Amazon to save the rainforest. They will soon discover that they are not alone, and that no good deed goes unpunished. The film will be released nation-wide on September 25 in association with High Top Releasing, a label dedicated to servicing high quality movies using Focus Features' distribution capabilities.
