In an announcement, Hawthorne Global Aviation Services said that it had purchased from Sovereign Development Group the development rights for a Fixed Base Operator (FBO) at the Executive Airport of Chicago.

The Hawthorne Global Aviation Services who holds office at Charleston, South Carolina, is the foremost provider of general aviation services since the year 1932. Hawthorne is planning to start the construction immediately at the FBO of Chicago Executive Airport. The project is estimated to finish by 2014.

Hawthorne President and Chief Executive Officer, Steven Levesque said, "The acquisition of the development rights for a new FBO at the Chicago Executive Airport establishes our presence in Chicago, a vibrant top three general aviation market. With this planned FBO, it broadens our geographic footprint of FBOs throughout the U.S. to now include the Midwest."

In 2010, Hawthorne Corporation and Moelis Capital Partners established Hawthorne to pursue a purchase approach on FBO. Moelis continues to provide Hawthorne with calculated guidance.

Moelis Capital Partners' Partner, Jim Johnston, said, "We are excited to add our third location to the Hawthorne platform, and we plan to continue expanding our network of FBOs across North America."
