They played husband and wife assassins, and then they fell in love. The 2005 film Mr. and Mrs. Smith was played by Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, respectively. Now, after 10 years, they are going to be in a drama film as husband and wife again in their upcoming film 'By the Sea.'

Angelina Jolie, 40, shares her experience to People on being together again on screen with husband Brad Pitt, 51. "It focuses on three couples, all at different stages in their lives. And at its center are the questions of what happened to Roland and Vanessa and why they are in the place they are now," said Jolie.

Set in 1970s, the story of 'By the Sea' revolves around the struggling marriage of Roland (Pitt) and Vanessa (Jolie). Inquisitr reported that 'By the Sea' is almost about their personal experiences as couples.

When Jolie was asked about directing her husband, she said "I'd be directing myself and him in a scene where we're having a fight, and I'd be pulling out the parts [of him] that have an aggression toward me or when you're frustrated with each other-it was very heavy."

Pitt's wife also said that on their set, their crew felt like they were in a house "where the parents were fighting and you don't know where to stand or where to look."

Angelina and Brad had been couples for ten years, however it was just last year that they got married. They spent their first anniversary in Malta, where they filmed a part of their movie and brought along their six children.

Though their friends thought they were crazy for making this kind of film, Jolie said that it is "an art film, the kind of movie that I like to see but not something I'm usually cast in," cited Vanity Fair.

Angelina is the director and writer for the film under Universal Pictures. The movie is set to release in theaters in November 13, 2015.
