Jenna Dewan Tatum is Lois Lane's younger sister Lucy Lane as she joined the cast of the upcoming CBS series Supergirl.

While Channing Tatum is signed on for a film to play X-Men's Gambit, his wife on the other hand has joined the Supergirl series of CBS. Witches of East End star Jenna Dewan-Tatum will be playing the role of DC Comics character Lucy Lane, the younger sister of Lois Lane.

According to The Hollywood Reporter Lucy's character is described as being as brash, funny, and beautiful as her older sister. Lucy is both strong and successful. She has a "history" with Jimmy James Olsen (which is romantic in the comics), who is portrayed in the series by Mehcad Brooks and is a love interest for Melissa Benoist's titular character.

Supergirl's story revolves around Kara Zor-El or Kara Danvers who was sent from Krypton to protect her baby cousin Kal-El, the future Superman. The 13 year old Kara was launched from Krypton moments after her baby cousin. On route her vessel was trapped in The Phantom Zone, a timeless drift delaying her arrival, leaving her in suspending animation.

Kara finds herself arriving to Earth, and her baby cousin is now all grown up, and has made a name for himself. She has kept her superhuman abilities until age 24, when she decided to embrace her powers and be the hero she was always meant to be.

Jenna's role as Lucy Lane is recurring. The cast includes Melissa Benoist as Kara/Supergirl, Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, Kara's boss at CatCo., David Harewood as Hank Henshaw, the boss of the Department of Extra-Normal Operations (DEO), and Chyler Leigh ("Grey's Anatomy) as Kara's earth foster sister, Alexandra Danvers.

The actress, whose other TV credits include American Horror Story and The Playboy Club, will debut as Lucy on the third episode; arriving in National City to right a wrong. The series will premiere October 26.
