Android 5.1 Lollipop Update for Samsung Galaxy S5, Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, and Galaxy Note 4 Roll Out

The latest Android 5.1 Lollipop Update for Samsung Galaxy S5, Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, and Galaxy Note 4 has already started rolling out. The firmware update delivers fixes for various bugs that came along with the former Android builds.

The first ones to receive the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update are the new flagships from the South Korean company.  There's a report which also says that the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge international versions are receiving the Android 5.1.1 update.

According to android geeks, android 5.1 Lollipop update is not an immense shift from KitKat 4.4 to Lollipop 5.0, however, some neat changes and improvements are still packed with the newest software. Based on the feedbacks from those who already received the new firmware on their phones, the main improvements carried by the Android 5.1 Lollipop update for Samsung Galaxy S5, Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, Galaxy Note 4, and Note Edge are said to be about system stability and camera performance.

The latest Android 5.1.1 OTA Update availability with the Galaxy S6 has a build number G920FXXU2BOG8 while a G925FXXU2BOGB build number or the Galaxy S6 Edge users. In the U.S except for the AT&T and Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint and U.S. Cellular U.S. major carriers have already started offering its users the 5.1.1 OTA update.

At the start of this month, the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for Galaxy Note 4 flagships in Russia. Since then it created a rumor that by the end of July, the update would be available across the globe.  Thus, the Galaxy Note 4 users will probably receive it next month.

T-Mobile Galaxy S5 users in the U.S were reported enjoying the new update. Whereas, the other carriers in the U.S. have not revealed any plans to release the update. The SFR carrier from France had announced that its Galaxy S5 users it will be receiving the Android 5.1.1 update. However, it is yet to confirm a release date.

As for the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, Rogers Wireless of Canada has officially affirmed that the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop will come arrive in August. Hence, the 5.1.1 update is to be received by Global users in August onwards.

Lastly, the 2013 Galaxy Note 3 phablet is currently running on Android 5.0 Lollipop. So far, the phablet has no any confirmation on if when this will receive the most recent Android 5.1.1 update.
