In an announcement it was disclosed that BD Diagnostics inked an international distributor agreement with Bruker Daltonics Inc. The agreement will have Bruker sell and provide front line technical support for the products that are co-labeled as BD Bruker MALDI Biotyper System.

Everyday a microbiology laboratory performs a microbial identification and antimicrobial susceptibility testing which utilizes too much time but with the product lines of BD Diagnostic and Bruker, it will process a completely integrated and optimized system for a workflow of a laboratory that does not consume too much time. At present, the Bruker MALDI Biotyper is not available for diagnostic use in the United States. The product is only available for research use.
