Renault-Nissan Chief Executive Officer Carlo Ghosn is hoping to receive final permission from the Beijing government to build the first Renault-Nissan plant in the country. He reiterated his statement last month that he is expecting the approval to go through by the end of 2013.

Ghosn, in an interview with French radio Europe 1, said, "Renault already has a plan for Chinam, which is ready and currently being negotiated with the Chinese government and I hope we will have all agreements before this summer."

He added that the state visit of French President Francois Hollande to China this week can help in hurdling administrative matters to get the plan into fruition.

The plan has already been delayed for over a year because of political tensions between China and Japan. The major issue was the dispute between the two nations as to a chain of islands, resulting in major protests and even a boycott of Japanese goods in China. Now, the tensions have been eased over and thus the expectation for the approval is but a matter of time.
