A movie adaptation of Neil Gaiman's "The Sandman" is happening once more and current producer Joseph Gordon-Levitt strongly claims that the movie will not be literal to the comic book series but they will keep its overall sentiments intact. Under the production of Warner Bros., the actor slash producer promises the dual dose of disappointment alongside a worthy acknowledgement for another shot of recreating the popular comic book franchise.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt made the honest assurance to the wide fan-base of "The Sandman" superhero comic book created by Neil Gaiman during a Reddit AMA session. With 75 issues in, the actor made a compelling point that the movie adaptation will be better off suited to give justice to the narrative and he's even accepting of the fact that some fans will be disappointed with his' and the studio's decision.

He started off by explaining how doing a show would turn out to be pale in comparison to the original comic books as this always happens on most. However, when it gets adapted into a movie, some elements can be changed whilst keeping the essence original.

"By reworking the material into a big movie, Gaiman's brilliant characters and ideas get to take shape in a way they never have before. Also, I think Sandman deserves to look absolutely mind-blowingly awesome, just on a visual level, and as cinematic as some tv shows are becoming these days, they still can't compete with big movies visually, just because they can't afford to," Levitt expanded.

As the producer of the film, Levitt elaborated that they are currently taking out different plot specifications straight from the comics and at the same time, doing a little bit of inventing. "There's tons of re-appropriating, re-contextualizing, combining, consolidating, and all manner of things that literalists might not like. But what we try to be completely faithful about is the overall sentiment: that Dreams and Stories and Magic are actually all the same thing, and that they're real, and that they're powerful," he continued.

Overtime, Neil Gaiman's "The Sandman" has gone over with different story adaptations-be it a movie or a show. In the end, they all appeared to have disappointed the wide fan-base. For this latest adaptation, Warner Bros.' frontline and producer Joseph Gordon-Levitt is confident that he can bring a new flavor to the classic superhero comic book. To date, there is still no release date to the film which means that the creators are not in any hurry.
