"The Winds of Winter" will be tying up loose ends of "A Dance with Dragons" once it drops on bookstores. Unfortunately, George R. R. Martin is still not done writing the book but that does not diminish the fans' excitement. There are even reports circulating online about the possible characters that might not get to the last book.

There is still no official announcement about the release date of "The Winds of Winter." Martin however, said in numerous interviews that he too already wants the sixth book to be released. We previously reported that the renowned author is even clearing his schedule to make time for writing.

During his interview with Entertainment Weekly, the author of "A Song of Ice and Fire" book series admits that book tours and other commitments really affected his writing process but he mentioned one thing that made waiting even harder for the fans.

"This is going to drive your readers crazy but I love it. I'm still weighing whether to go that direction or not. It's a great twist."

What could be the "great twist" that he is talking about? Could it be Jon Snow's return or the much-awaited comeback of Catelyn Stark? Or is he pertaining to some death of other characters?

Since "Game of Thrones" is way ahead of the book series and have seen the deaths of some characters, What Culture listed some spoilers that could be included in the pages of "The Winds of Winter."

One character that may not live through the end of sixth book is Ser Barristan Selmy, one of the best knights of Westeros. The fifth season of the popular series saw his death in the hands of the Harpies, which could mean that he'll be facing the same fate eventually.

Another character that may not get into book seven is  Stannis Baratheon. GoT saw his death during its last season in the Battle of Winterfell. In the early parts of "The Winds of Winter," the battle will be tied up and might see the death of Stannis as well.

"The Winds of Winter" is definitely one of the most anticipated books and right now, there are numerous speculations about its release date and possible events regarding its big twist.
